The aftermath of the biggest Dutch startup delegation to Slush 2022
With a mission of helping the next generation of groundbreaking entrepreneurs, over the years Slush has become one of the most influential startup events in the world. This year’s edition will go down in history as an event that successfully welcomed 72 innovative Dutch startups interested in expansion into the Nordic market.
Startups with a mission to fast-forward responsible tech
The Dutch delegation to Slush is growing each year. Not only was this year’s list of participants bigger than ever, but it also saw a nice mix of health tech, fintech, agro, mobility, and energy players. All on a mission to contribute to a better world, and with true startup character: disruptive and bold. Challenging the way we think, live, eat, work and play.
With the support of the four technical universities, regional incubators, accelerators, and government agencies, the Dutch delegation of 72 startups spent several days in Helsinki networking and matchmaking with like-minded ecosystem builders, investors, and local founders, to scale their businesses, and solving global challenges together.
The Greater Rotterdam Area was represented by OasysNow, Hundo, Quan Wellbeing, Valyuu, Orchest, AquaSmartXL, Circularise, Villari, Ubiqu, Quantum Delta NL, and the 4TU impact challenge winners Biosphere Solar, SizeRight and Cryocop.
Thanks to an excellent organization as well as the available matchmaking platform, in total the teams had more than 180 meetings with a prospective partner or an investor, 90 of which will have a follow-up within the next 3 months.
Our startup founders praised the broad spectrum of the VCs present at the event who have “helped them define the strategy for the years to come”, and others even named Slush “THE event [to be] when fundraising”.
A pleasant surprise and distinction met Hundo when they were selected from 4600 startups to be in the 1.8% chosen for the Product Showcase on the WEB3 stage of the event, propelling the momentum from their launch to partners and investors they had just one week before.
Attendees agree that the exposure of their brands was significant and many reported that participation would lead to new partnerships and investment opportunities.
“Thank you Lars, Rory, Lisette and Up!Rotterdam for inviting us and helping us join the mission! We got immense value out of it and learned a lot”
Nima Salami, CEO & founder of OasysNow
With overwhelmingly positive feedback from startups from the Greater Rotterdam area, and their gratitude for the opportunity and connections made, on behalf of the startups and Up!Rotterdam team, we would like to thank all the partners and organizers for contributing to the success of this business mission, thank you, and see you next year RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency), NovelT, 4TU.Federation, Netherlands Point of Entry, Rotterdam Partners, Founded in Friesland, and Founded in Groningen.
