Course AI Aware
Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant future: it’s already embedded in business operations, customer interactions, and everyday tools. Yet many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are using AI without a clear strategy or policy. With the upcoming EU AI Act taking effect in 2025, it’s more important than ever for business owners to understand what AI means for their organization.

That’s why the new course AI aware was created: a practical, accessible, and immediately applicable training program developed especially for SME entrepreneurs who want to use AI responsibly, with attention to both people and society.
What you will learn in AI aware
This course provides concrete tools to:
- Understand and apply generative AI in your day-to-day work
- Use AI without compromising customer trust or brand identity
- Comply with the requirements of the AI Act and GDPR
- Organize business processes more efficiently while staying in control
Designed by and for entrepreneurs
AI aware is an initiative of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Responsible Applied Artificial Intelligence (RAAIT) program. This program brings together the universities of applied sciences in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Utrecht, along with companies and societal partners, to develop responsible AI solutions that can be applied directly in practice. The course was co-created with SME experts and is tailored to real-world situations and choices entrepreneurs face every day.
