Despite facing several challenges, such as financial obstacles, limited access to resources, and much more, women’s entrepreneurship is growing globally. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2023/24 Women’s Entrepreneurship Report: Reshaping Economies and Communitiesone in ten women, compared to one in eight men, were starting new businesses in 2023.

The Netherlands has witnessed women’s startup rates more than double over the past two decades. This is evident in the city of Rotterdam, where women are leading innovative startups, creating sustainable businesses, and driving economic growth.

Rotterdam: A thriving hub for women-led startups
